What we’ve been up to
If you have been following our recent ventures you realize that we have been talking a lot about a new product that we have just launched. We are pretty excited about this one. We have recently realized that it has been in our hearts for the longest of times. All Things Considered, we have been working on this product for the past two years. But we’ll get back to that in a second
About NyayoZangu Learn
NyayoZangu learn Is an online learning platform that helps people learn about the business lifestyle and personal development in a simplified flashcard-based format.
Learn new skills in a simple format.
NyayoZangu Learn
This is our tagline. This is what we hope we can achieve with this platform. We have noticed that many people are interested in learning but then there is not enough local high-quality educational content around.
Some Backstory
About two years ago we started slowing down on our social media presence and you’re looking for some content ideas that would go well with our brand. If you’ve been following our brand you will know that our tagline is Sharing experiences and opportunities. This is our mantra, this is what we live by and this is the test that we run every time we have a new product or service.
Since we were already in the servicing businesses industry we thought we would start creating content around helping businesses work on their brands and build their businesses. The idea here was to share our experience of how business was and hopefully help others grasp a better understanding of how to run their businesses.
little did we know that this was the birth of something incredible. We love listening to feedback and so as we shared the content that we shared about business and branding in marketing we were also keen to listen to what people thought about the content that we were sharing. The majority of the response that we got from most of the visitors to our social media pages was very positive. This encouraged us to continue working on high-quality content.
Discovering Local Content
It did not take us long to realize that the reason most people were very enthusiastic about the kind of content that you were sharing was that there wasn’t a lot of content out there which catered to the local market.
It is also important to note that this didn’t happen overnight and it wasn’t instantaneous. far from it, we tried different things before we landed on this particular type of content. I guess if there is a lesson to be learned here is that you keep trying until it works.

Collecting user feedback
What we consistently did while we were trying out the new content was to listen to the users. The majority of the feedback told us that most people wanted a space where they could find this kind of content. At the Times I’m suggesting some suggestions were being thrown around about how to go about centralizing this content. examples being having WhatsApp groups or Facebook groups where we could post this content. On the other hand, we couldn’t find a product that focused on delivering high-quality local content in a simplified format.
Birth Of An Idea
After doing some digging we concluded that if we can’t find a product that is already doing what we want to do then we might as well build it ourselves. This is where the idea of the online learning platform came about.
At the time it didn’t look like a very scary idea to take on especially considering that there was a lot of work to do.
We spent a few weeks talking to more users and sharing this concept that we had for an MVP. Finally, when you were confident about the data that we had collected, we saw that it was the right time to start building the product.
The Minimum Viable Product
For the MVP we thought what we needed was something basic that could prove a few assumptions that we had. and here are the assumptions that we had at the time:
- People are willing to study new skills except they are limited by The Format of the learning experience.
- That language is one of the main challenges to learning new skills from online platforms.
- The people are willing to share their knowledge with the community given That there is a right audience.
The Feature List
Upon assessing the minimum viable product we found that the features that needed to be built were not that complicated.
here are some of the features that we thought we would need for the early version of the product:
- Account management system: a way to log in and signup users
- Creating courses
- Viewing courses
These were the three major things that we thought would be necessary for the early version of the product.
The studying experience
One of the things that we put a lot of thought into was how one can go about studying the course. From the beginning, we realized that the format needed to be short and not the long format that we were used to in blogs and articles. The feedback that we had collected already had an advantage here because we were using platforms such as Instagram and Facebook which used the Carousel format. What we then did was replicate the studying experience and make it more interactive and easier to use.
Our Subscription Model
Right now we have two subscription plans that are designed to be a good fit for most of our users.
The free plan
We still intend to offer free courses in a variety of subjects. The requirement to join the free plan is signing up for an account on NyayoZangu Learn. Once a user has registered an account then they can access all the free courses offered in NyayoZangu Learn.
We have also put some thought into the registration process. Right now users can create an account by either using Google sign-in or by signing up through their phone number.

The Paid Plan

Some courses offered in NyayoZangu Learn, go in-depth and different specific highly-requested subject matters. The acquisition of these courses has a cost and therefore we have grouped them into the paid plan. Users will begin by registering an account and then making payments to be able to be subscribed to this plan.
There are two main types of subscriptions: one is the monthly subscription and another is the annual subscription. We have started by charging Tshs.5,000 for the monthly subscription and Tzsh.50,000 for the annual subscription.

We strongly believe that these subscription plans are very affordable for the target audience that we are trying to reach out to.
The Future
When our main focus is getting early users and getting some music feedback from the current version of the product so that we can add more features and iterate to make the product better.
In the current version, we are looking toward acquiring more users who can view the free courses that are offered. but at some point, we are also planning to start onboarding subscriptions for those users who want to view the paid courses.
The Announcement
We are happy to announce that our MVP is up and running. We also got to buy a cool domain name which we feel will stand the test of time.
Closing Remarks
We have been reaching out to different people to ask them to try out NyayoZangu Learn and the feedback has been very instrumental in improving the early version of the product. We can’t express how thankful we are for those who have taken the risk with us in these early days. We honestly believe that this platform can transform people’s lives and help them learn new skills that will add value to their lives.
If you are interested in taking part in this process we encourage you to visit NyayoZangu Learn and reach out to us to share your feedback. Thanks.
